Viva Vigan

Vigan Longganisa Festival is celebrated around January 22nd to January 25th. The event's highlights will be the Street Dancing and the Culinaria Longganisa Cooking and Making Contest. The festival will showcase the town's cultural and natural legacy while showcasing the distinctive and delicious longganisa products.

They celebrate the festival with Longganisa Cooking and Making Contest. Longganisa is a local sausage with a creamy garlic flavor and a breakfast staple in the country. It is produced in hog casings using ground lean pork, ground pig fat, bay leaves, bay sauce, vinegar, black pepper, and salt to taste. Adding chili flakes is another option. In Vigan City, a yearly "Longganisa Festival" honors sausages.

They also celebrate with Street Dancing Contest. The Street Dancing event is a vivacious and vibrant procession with participants dancing to traditional Filipino music while wearing elaborate costumes. As participants portray tales, figures, and events connected to the longganisa industry and Vigan culture, the parade serves as a showcase for local ingenuity, history, and culture.

Every year on January 25th, the Vigan City Grand Parade is held as a celebration of the city's founding. Numerous groups from the community, as well as schools and government institutions, take part in the parade to display their cultural heritage and traditions through vibrant floats and costumes. The parade route travels through the old streets of the city and passes through famous sites including the Vigan Cathedral and the Calle Crisologo, both of which are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. One of the most significant cultural events in the Ilocos area, the event is attended by locals, tourists, and dignitaries.

In conclusion, the Fiesta in Vigan City is a vibrant and enjoyable event that unites the neighborhood to honor its rich cultural legacy. The Fiesta is a must-attend event for everyone, locals and visitors alike, as it provides a fascinating look into the customs and traditions of this lovely city.
